Preparing for Back-to-School

For families, back-to school-planning this year is even more stressful than usual.  We know that schools are re-opening and wonder about the pandemic and what is best for our children. We are worried and hopeful, and need to be positive and pro-active to help prevent spread… There is a lot to think about.   Here are a few links to help you consider options, prepare yourself and your children for what to expect, and get your supplies: Free backpack program:  If you are interested contact them asap! There is a limited amount for each grade. 

  • The Salvation Army Backpack Program: The form is offered in English, French or Spanish. If you are having difficulty registering, call 403.220.0432 and one of the Resource Workers will help.  Note you have a choice of pickup location and one is Ernie Starr Arena. School: In-person or virtual options: (note that kindergarten is not mandatory in Alberta) CBE options – decision required by August 24

children returning to school will be required to wear masks: We know there are other school boards and that you may find other options that suit your family.  Please check their websites for accurate information.
